M4v3r1kk Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 I'm currently following the guide and building my first cave. the problem is that I have put a piece into the Render Screen but it's just above the piece it's supposed to connect to. They have the same Z number too. Any help on this?

Any help on this? The coordinates don't always mean that things match up, some statics have their base points (what those coordinated refer to) in a different relationship to their actual model. This usually happens when you have statics which cause a change of direction (up, down, left, right) and it's usually just a matter of manually moving them to the right position. Most statics are built around a multiple of 8, meaning that adjustments to the position in a multiple of 8 (8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512...) will usually result in a near seamless match. Some statics, even those of caves which are supposed to fit together, have gaps between them. I would make sure the X and Y alignment is right, then use the property windows to move the static along the Z axis until it matches.
