UlfricsRevenge
...creates a sense of urgency that seems to prohibit free roaming and taking your time through the game, here's how I cope with it. It's very simple, really. Who's the one person who sets you off on your adventure to find Shaun? Mama Murphy, of course. And Mama Murphy is very easy to disregard, isn't she? From a RP perspective all you have to do is tell yourself she's totally bat$### crazy and ignore her. You might be desperate to find Shaun, but you're not so desperate that you'll listen to the ramblings of a decrepit old drug addict. "I saaar it!" Yeah, whatever, you old coot. Aren't you in the wrong game anyway? I could've sworn I killed you in Skyrim when you went by your proper title: hagraven. So that's it, really. Avoid Mama Murphy, avoid Nick Valentine's office and you're good to go. Of course you won't be able to progress very far on the main quest via any of the factions, but again, this small RP tweak is for those who want to just experience many hours of freedom, side quests, levelling and perhaps settlement building before tackling the MQ. Yeah, Shaun is out there and you'd sure like to find him, but you literally have NO idea where to start... So you might as well just have fun.
