though the game is Fo3, some parts apply

but it might be better for you afflicted with this issue to use virtual directory in mod organizers functions.

use it's bsa extractor for mesh and textures while building or editing your mods with.

you can create a separate folder to use for the game files cuz mod gives you that ability.

currently, as I understand your situations, you need to isolate steams issues, though I did what you wanted without problems, your issue continue...something there on your systems is "changing" because the data needs NOT be changed.

if you knew what broken files do ? they can corrupt the gecks ability to cope...the 4gig extender breaks the games engine, changes it's crc. and also, the version controls get messed up too.

you asked questions effected by this .

look at it in this way...say you just installed the game, you have vanilla geck and vanilla engine,, you know for a fact, you need a 1.7 version game engine to work with a lot of modding tools or your mods will be out dated..that means there is a change that takes place.

vanilla engines and geck can not load or edit 1.7 files...if tye do, the results crash the game or prevent the game from loading...this is due to version controls...the same applies to FOSE, versions..and it outright tells you this on load.

something your missing...and we throw in windows 10 new protocols .

I can only assume this from posts read.

im a little confused on what you want me to do exactly. i read the posts and im not seeing how my problem correlates with his also i found this in the geck custom ini [GeneralWarnings]

SGeneralMasterMismatchWarning=One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.
SMasterMismatchWarning=One of the files that "%s" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
strangely enough the warnings.txt is missing too and i knew where that was.
if its a problem with the geck version why does my fo3 geck work perfectly? it is at least 4 years older.

@mrchaos500

ok post the games plugin.txt files contents here so I can whats there.

do you currently have a mesh and texture folder in the game data folder...NOTE: I am assuming you issue is NV game?

only thing that comes to mind currently involving this game is steams last update, and where as some files effecting the overlay may be involved...this reasoning is due to a lot of other steams games hosted here, there are complaints that match, some share the same type of bug.

the only thing that remain the same is direct-x data effecting the overlay which in turns is used by the geck when rendering the data.

but, 4 U, I need you to capture a screen shot of the exact editing process your using...I have a hunch..things there have changed.

confused? you should be on my side of this, I can edit the same item without any difficulties, I even made a warp driven 10mm gun that does all sorts of weird things in the fnv game. just can't understand why I seen a windows locked icon overlaying the geck...there should be no such thing.

it is still a permission issue as long as that is present on the shortcut or executable..when you see these things, windows is excreting it's influences on the program and all files in use.

what applies is the data folder and files in the root of the game, the screen shots as far as cleanliness goes.

it's an example of just how things need to be, and no edits to the game engine or the geck.

"spotless files intact and unmodified." nothing to do with any ini files. Just a squeaky clean game.

My testing software is all virgin, UN-touched by any tweaks and zero mods written into the game.

This web page refers to just that (http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Main_Page)

based on raw unmodified game software. windows 10 issues will cause problems if the game is installed in a system protected folder...before10, like 7, the issue was not so pronounced...new day..guess what, it is very pronounced now. but I need to see what your doing not told about it, see it.

found your issue, it's loading from fallout3's bsa archive and NOT NV's

For your issue, I highly recommend you seek support from TTW web site cuz that's what your running, that Entire data base has been recompiled...I can not support recompiled data...And I do know all about it cuz I have my own on another hard drive too.

no support for TTW here, I am very sorry.
