Anyone having similar behaviour?

Hey, I have a strange issue that is killing my FPS. I have not had time to re-adjust the changes I made to my oblivion.ini to see if any are responsible for my problem but I wanted to check to see if anyone else is experiencing it.

My FPS is a nice 40-ish outdoors (with HDR and AA enabled... looks so buttah). After traveling a long distance or loading a numder of indoor/outdoor areas, I've noticed my FPS drop to around 20.

To test this, I quicksaved (when it was giving 20 FPS) and closed the game. When I re-openned it and loaded the game (so I started in the exact same area), it was back up to 40+ FPS.

I've done this a few times, so I know this effect is consistent.

It must have something to do with how much of that game has been loaded, but thats all I know.

Again; I will be testing out my ini changes to see if this is just something that I have brought upon myself but I wanted to see if anyone else (with or without ini changes) is experiencing similar behaviour.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Try one of those cell buffer purging mods out there. I use "almost perfect frame rate optimiser" , it has purge cell buffer option in it, but there are few others out there that do same. "purge cell buffers" is onother one. Look for one that has smart options like (wait for conversation to end before purging memory buffer) etc.

If its not on tessource, then you can find it here:

Let us know if that works for you?

I will try the ones you mentioned in the above post.

I have been testing with a purger called Streamline; but all combinations of ini tweaks (including default values) and Streamline (on and off) have given the same annoying effect. The framerate slowly falls after loading a number of cells/areas and I get pretty bad stuttering (from loading).

If anyone has any comments or suggestions to add, that would be great.

I just looked at the info about that mod and all it does is change the graphics settings (the in-game settings). With my current settings, I can get that nice 40+ FPS but my problem has to do with cells (or other data) loading.

Any other mods to suggest for this type of problem?

Here's the best lead I've found. Let me know if this sheds anymore light on my problem.

Well, no one here seems to have anything to add so if you are looking for an answer to the same type of problem I am having, try the link above, as that's where I'm going to continue looking for a solution.
