BudgetHero4Hire
Hello, hello. Still getting started with the very, very basics of tackling modding for Fallout 4-- a dizzying affair to be sure. Anywho, to the point: I am terribly fond of punching things for great justice in the game, but find the native sounds for fistcuffs a bit.. tame. And redundant. And while I could replace the standard sound (I think, should be as simple as a swap in the right format, right?), would it be at all possible to have the game play a random sound out of a set of clips? (Such as Double Dragon, bits from 80's action movies, etc, or more generic yet effective sound bytes that have no royalties attached.) Or is this more of a must wait for the proper tools sort of deal, as there is only so much that can be done currently without the editor present in all it's magnificent glory? Thank you for your time, and merry Christmas. (Or just a rather keen day due to whatever religious bit you follow.)
Moraelin
Pretty sure one could do that since FO3. Speaking of weapon sounds, my lightsabers for example had a couple of different swing sounds, with the doppler effect working a bit differently, for example. The trick IIRC is really just to use a directory name instead of a specific file name. So then the game just picks a random file from that directory.
