SkullField
updated! (read 2nd reply) all the mods i had on were working just fine for a few days, quick saves and quick loads were working fine. then today after making a ton of progress i exit the game and make one little edit, uninstalling rich merchants and installing less rich merchants. that's the only change i made in days. now the only save that loads is from a very long time ago. what could cause this. i use NMM. ive disabled all mods and it still crashes late in the loading screen. if you need more info let me know. i really don't want to start waaay back to when i first took sanctuary..the mods i use, sorry for the poor quality, i had to smush the file size to 250kb. SharraShimada
If some mod screwed your savegame, its screwed. No matter you uninstalled the mods, the information ist still stored in the save. Thats the reason an very old savegame still works, because there is no faulty data stored. In the worst case, you destroyed the current savegame with that not working mod (i.e. if its written for FO4 1.0, and you patched to 1.2)Adding new mods is always "make a security savegame to go back if the poo flies into the ventilaor" or start a new game. Never assume your game progress will be 100% asured, when you add any mod.
SkullField
i have an update! i was playing a new character, and never to change any mods. once i came in loading distance of the castle, this new character crashed. thinking back, thats where the last 4 of my old characters saves are at. its the castle. im thinking its a cell problem or something. ive tried loading the old character with no mods like i mentioned before but that would mean something was saved permanently. how do i reset something like that? i could go looking randomly in there but i would like some leads. Bionicbulldog2015
Did you by any chance use the drop weapon then store to workshop to increase the amount you can build, and did you do this a few times? If you did , then this might be you problem. Same thing happened to me in sanctuary.

Same thing happened to me in sanctuary.no, not that i know of. i do remember not being to be able to put items of any sort on the ground in build mode. it would go through ground and only detect the ground under it. weird i know. SharraShimada
Cleaning a savegame from mod-crap was always experimental in skyrim. I dont think there is already enough knowledge out there, to even start cleaning a F04 save.
