FO4Edit texture swap?

Hey, I'm having trouble getting a texture swap working on FO4Edit. I'm trying to make a standalone of the Petro-Chico jumpsuit from this for personal use.

I've managed to give it a new FormID, name, and everything, except for the texture.

I do not know how to get the goddamn texture swap to work.

Help? Please?

Create a new shader model BGSM file pointing to the new texture. There is no texture swaps in FO4 like in previous games, only shader model swaps.

Ya but FO4 has "material swaps" now which should work right?

They swap materials, textures are part of material files. You can't swap textures only like in previous games using "Alternate textures" feature.

Well ya, but i was able to swap just the textures for my custom ammo for gatling lasers. Material Editor can be used to edit the material file (.BGSM) and then do a swap out in FO4Edit with the material swap.

Hey if editing the material files and swapping it changes the texture, does it not swap the texture :psyduck:

It swaps textures too because they are a part of materials. But it doesn't change the fact that you are actually swapping materials in the first place, not textures like in previous games :laugh:

Haha yes very true, certainly wish it was as easy as previously and didn't require the extra work.
