Scrufdog
Hopefully this is a good place to ask this. So I'm simply trying to edit a damage mod out there to tweak it more to my likely... which is actually lessening some of the new damage values. I would like to use FO4Edit to do it, but when I start it up I get the following error... FO4Edit 3.1.3 EXPERIMENTAL starting session 2015-12-26 23:09:55Using Fallout4 Data Path: Using ini: Fatal: Could not find ini I read up on the error on what little I could find with google. I cant seem to find much on command line documentation. The best suggestion I could find was adding to the shortcut for FO4Edit. This is my setup and what I did to the shortcut Fallout 4 location - C:\Games\Fallout 4Fallout 4 ini location - C:\Users\Mike\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.INI"FO4Edit location - D:\Downloads\FO4EditWindows 8.1 The shortcut is laid out as such... Target: D:\Downloads\FO4Edit\FO4Edit.exe -I: "C:\Users\Mike\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.INI"Start in: D:\Downloads\FO4Edit I read something about registry edits to point out the proper directories, but want to avoid unless needed. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sharlikran
This is an edited canned response I am trying to refine.1) It is possible to bypass the Fallout4Launcher.exe with F4SE. If you have been using F4SE to launch Fallout 4 you can keep doing that but you will need to run the Fallout4Launcher.exe at least once so it can make all the proper changes to your system.2) It is possible to bypass the Fallout4Launcher.exe with NMM. If you have been using NMM to launch Fallout 4 you can keep doing that but you will need to run the Fallout4Launcher.exe at least once so it can make all the proper changes to your system. After doing so the current Fallout 4 Patch may disable your plugins. Check before launching Fallout 4 that all your mods are active.3) You manually moved your Fallout 4 install from where Steam put it. All you have to do is put Fallout 4 back where Steam originally installed it and then uninstall Fallout 4. Once you do that go into the settings for Steam and click Downloads. Once on the Downloads tab you will see a button for Steam Library Folders. Click that and make a folder to install Steam games to any drive you choose. Then tell Steam to install and Download Fallout 4 to that new library folder. Once you have installed Fallout 4 make sure you run the Fallout4Launcher.exe to make the proper changes to your system.Once you run the Fallout4Launcher.exe there will be no errors about missing registry entries or missing INI files because the Launcher will have taken care or that.4) You are running Mod Organizer for Fallout 4 which currently cannot run 32-bit apps so I don't know if your game or install will be detected.5) You ran Verify Integrity of Game Cache from steam which resets everything. After steam is finished run the Fallout4Launcher.exe so it can make the required changes to your system.

wimpymilkdrinker
Thank you Sharlikran! I spent two hours searching for a fix for the fatal ini problem for FO4Edit. I verified my game files and ran the FO4 launcher and FO4Edit is working again. Thanks again your post helped me out tremendously.

FO4Edit worked the first time i opened it.
