Really dumb phrases or sayings

It annoys me a little when people confuse "can" and "may," but it annoys more when people call them on it publicly.

i.e.

 

Student: [raises hand] Can I go to the bathroom?

Teacher: I don't know, can you?

Student: ...May I go to the bathroom?

 

I think it annoys me more is because during elementary school, I had a teacher who would do that every single time to students in his class.

yeah landskecht, i know how you feel, in primary school i had a teacher like that, you'd go up and ask "can i go to the toilet?"

and he'll go "of course, we can all go to the toilet, our bodies need it to survive" or he'll say say "of course" and as soon as you get to the door he'll say " where are you going?" "you said i could go to the bath room"

and he'll do the usuall thing.

Glad I was not the only one who had an elementary/primary school teacher that did that.

 

Of course what got me was when one of my high school teachers did that too one of my classmates. I thought teachers had the judgment enough to stop doing that when the students became teenagers.

Any 'yo momma' joke is riddiculusly stupid. They are all unoriginal and seriously lacking in punch. It's what you do when you can't think of anything. Actually, I just keep quiet in said situation.
