frustration over mods, please help

I've only got a handful of mods and all of them work except two that keep conflicting, hairstyle day and pineappletree's colors and i keep seeing advice about the xml files but i've already run the chargenmorph and the xml files should all be in one, so i don't understand!!! When i disable the colors then the hairstyle works, but if i have the colors it won't let me have the hairstyles!!! I'm new to mods though and if there's some sort of issue that I'm just not seeing then please tell me because i've spent about two hours now just trying to get these dang mods to work and they still don't
