And when they ask for deletion, why do you only ban them? That's not the same. Their request isn't "done". bben46
There can be many reasons for requesting an account be closed. Currently the most common is they want to change their user name. And need to close the current one to open their email to allow a new sign up. Others are on the wrong site - they thought this was for the Nexus PHONE. :pinch: and didn't look at the site before registering. Still others are cleaning old accounts and ask for this one to be closed as part of the process. Some have an old account and don't want to be caught with multiple accounts. Then there are the pirates and wannabe console modders who discover Nexus isn't what they expected. I'm sure there are other reasons, but I don't ask why when I close. As for why the account shows as banned - that is the IPBoard software package - it really doesn't have any other way to deal with this  We do keep a separate list so we know who was actually banned and who was just closed. A closed account can be reopened with a simple request, a banned one cannot (without a successful appeal) The 'done' is to let us know the account is closed and who did it if there is a question later - for site transparency. ( the requester cannot see it anyway unless they make another account)
