Can I import stuff in NifSkope?

Been trying NifSkope 2.0 alpha for a bit, and it looks like while it can load FO4 files, it can't import an .obj or .3ds file, like the 1.x could. Which makes it a bit, you know, useless for anything but scaling existing stuff.

So does anyone know a way to get my mesh into it?

Though there may be a "newer" NifSkope soon to be released or the author may give me a link, or never respond, as it now stands, I'm learning Substance Designer/Painter. Even if you could import a nif, which I can sometimes from game assets, and sometimes not, getting the modified files into a form that the game reads is a whole other story.

[edit] The NifSkope 2.0 dev4 2015-12-14 does work for other ppl, I'm just too ignorant to use it yet.

I think you can get to the latest copy with this link. http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4136-nifskope-20-dev/

Sorry, I just read import is disabled for now

The information you need is out there cause people are already getting brand new, fully skinned meshes into the game. But its all hush hush. Good luck figuring it out with all the modders out there in it for themselves, which doesn't really make sense.

The Outfit Studio in bodyslide lets you import obj files, and export FO4-compatible NIF files. The process is pretty straightforward for actual outfits (which I have done). I verified it can convert other types of objects, but I haven't used the technique to make anything other than outfits. You can definitely create and skin a mesh in Blender (or presumably any modeling program), import the obj into Outfit Studio, export as a FO4-compatible NIF, and load that NIF into NifSkope 2.0. Then you can theoretically make whatever adjustments are required to make it a functioning weapon, static, or whatever.
