DannyFluffyPants
Of course, I was eager to play Oblivion and download mods and such, so I didn't backup Oblivion onto my other hard drive after installing it. As I'm sure you all have done, I filled it full of mods till it was messed up hardcore. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled Oblivion. But when I clicked uninstall on the Oblivion Launcher, It said it couldn't uninstall it and to run the setup.exe on the installation disc. No dice. With these options exhausted, I ignorantly deleted everything in the Bethesda folder. Then when I went to reinstall, putting in the disc only made the Oblivion Launcher popup. No option to install or anything, just the usual play, data files, and such. I think i screwed it up and need another copy. What do you think? It worked fine. But now all of a sudden I get black lines and shapes clipping through the environment and me randomly, and if I go anywhere the screen turns entirely black. I can still move but I can't see anything. And sometimes when it turns black it crashes Oblivion and Vista brings up the 'this program closed due to a problem blah blah blah'. I don't know what to do. I deleted all mods and uninstalled and reinstalled Oblivion, but now even running the newly reinstalled Oblivion with no mods even on the computer, it still does it. If you tell me how to take screenshots, I'll show you, seeing as how prt sc doesn't seem to work on this game.

Your video card is overheating o_O (my guess) remove the side cover of the computer and play it that way short term solution.. Take your pc to computer shop and ask them to install better cooling (few extra fans would do it) , because your pc vid card is overheating. ps. if try to give more information on the error code too "'this program closed due to a problem blah blah blah" The "blah blah blah" is the most important part of that information ;D

Not too sure about the videocard deal. I removed the cover and my comp has been off for like, 8 hours. And I just started Oblivion and of course the black lines and such are still there =O Heres a screenshot of the error message, but I don't think it will help, its rather vague...http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b302/bor...ck/Untitled.jpg
