ladydie
Hi all,I have been having two weird little issues lately. (at least I think they are issues)All I ever run into on the road are bandits with no weapons and barefeet, lol. Sack cloth pants or green felt linens. When I first started playing I used to get a good mix of barefoot bandits and armored bandits. I've been using Francesco's leveled creatures mod, but even when I took it out, I still had only the barefooted hooligans. :) I'm not sure if this is an intended feature of the game or Francesco's mod. Or, it may be a weird bug. I can't be sure. Around the same time that I began seeing only barefoot bandits, I also started finding a ton of calipers in the bandits (and any enemy that carries any sort of loot). I'm talking like 6 or 7 calipers, and they are all sorted separately which seems odd to me since usually like-items are grouped together and numbered accordingly in the inventory. Either I have a game issue, or the folks at Bethesda have very sick senses of humor. :) I'd be exceedingly grateful if someone who's had experience with Francesco's mod, or has seen any of these odd little "features" would share their and experience and shed some light on this for me. Many thanks!

ninja_lord666
M'aiq the Liar was originally a character in Morrowind alone on an island far north. He would tell all sorts of lies about things, but one thing he said was true: <omitted due to spoilers>. He has returned in Oblivion, but this time is simply an easter egg. Every day he runs (he's the fastest npc in the game) from Anvil to Leyawiin and back. Also, he spends a couple hours every day looking for calipers. If you manage to find him, you can talk to him. In Oblivion, he'll only tell you his opinions though. The reason he's an easter egg is because his "opinions" are really Bethesda's excuses for not adding things into the game such as throwing weapons, children, horse combat, etc. Seriously, though, I don't know why or how you obtained those two problems. You should wait for Vagrant to find this thread; he seems to know the answers to all the technical support problems...

AH, I've seen M'aiq the liar running around many times in TES-Oblivion...for some reason "M'aiq" alone did not trigger my memory.I always wondered about him and figured at some point he'd become part of the story, lol.Actually, I've also wondered many times why there were no children in the game....the more I thought about it, the more bizarre it seemed to have a world with no children! Maybe I should catch him and listen to his lies. :) Well, let's hope against all hopes that Vagrant makes his way over to this thread! I'm tired of seeing all of the Bandits barely clad and barefoot. Even the ladies are shirtless (bra and sack cloth pants) I'm hoping there might possibly be a way to get the game to regenerate the bandits so that eventually, if no one can pinpoint the actual cause of the problem, I'll at least get the real bandits back...I still haven't found a full set of glass armor and I'm level 36! Thanks again for any advice!
Vagrant0
Well, let's hope against all hopes that Vagrant makes his way over to this thread! I'm tired of seeing all of the Bandits barely clad and barefoot. Even the ladies are shirtless (bra and sack cloth pants)Interesting... I'd be tempted to think this is a problem with the leveled lists. While I didn't really get a chance to play with francescos much, I believe it did change alot of things including leveled lists. You might want to try using OBMM to see if there are any other mods you're using which change leveled lists. If that doesn't work, try starting a new game, using console to get yourself to level 36, godmode, and out of the tutorial (cow tamriel 5, 5) to see if the problem still shows. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling frans, taking note of the optional mods (think one of them affects clutter or calipers (remember seeing some mod that does somewhere) or something). Then try both from your game (try waiting till after a respawn period before going hunting) and from a new game like above. Might also want to try adjusting the loading order of frans so that if there is some sort of conflict, it will use the information in frans, and not the other mod (this may however cause loading problems, or equipment disappearing). Thanks again for any advice! Don't worry, I'm sure eventually someone will come along that knows how to fix your 'bandits in skivvies with calipers' problem. Although you have no idea how hilarious it is to read your problem. You have my sympathy, because I would find that rather disturbing. Its like those berserkers from Solsthiem that would run around in their undies and try to kill you. Dang. Weird timing, Vagrant. EDIT: Merged your posts. Please use the edit button rather than double posting needlessly. Thanks. - Switch
DeusXMachina
Did you use Wrye Bash to merge your leveled lists? If not, try it.
ladydie
lol, it is indeed a ridiculous issue which is why it took me awhile to work up the courage to ask about it..It's such a strange problem that I wasn't sure anyone would believe it! ;) As for the issue....It's been solved! The thing I didn't do when testing the game without Francesco's mod was to wait until the game respawned the new characters. So, I took Vagrant's advice by removing Francesco's mod and waiting a few days, and sure enough the barefoot bandits are nowhere to be found. It's been so long that I've had this issue that I think I'm going to miss those scantily clad hooligans! ;) Vagrant, you are officially my hero. Have some Kudos. Thank you so much!
