Cleaning up a mod.

Hello, i've been poking and proding at the TES construction set for a few months now, learning little by little; nothing serious. However the last week i've been busy with a mod idea i've had for a while now and am just finishing up with it. In the process of making the mod though, I have accidently modified cells/items that I didn't want modified so now they have the (*) sign by their editor ID's. When I finish the mod I would like it as clean as possible, so is there a way to revert the changes in certain cells/items back to normal (undo is not an option anymore)??? I had thought about transfering it to a whole new plugin file, but that would take a lot of work and I don't want to do that if there is a simple solution!

While im here making a post, I have a nother question as well. The mod iv'e been working on is intended for me and my friends to use. The mod plays a song in the backround that really fits the mod, but it's not royalty free or a song I made though (and no, i'm not licensed to use it). So if I ever deem the mod worthy of posting online (it is my first mod) will I have to take the music out because technically its re-distributing? or is it the kind of "Turn the other way" and nothing is said  ? or is it not even a problem at all?

Thanks for your time! :D

Did the changes you made to those cells/items really matter enough to change? What I mean is, if it's nothing major, anyone who downloads your mod probably won't notice or care as long as it has no serious adverse effects.

I spose they arnt significant, ingame you would never know. I would just like to make the mod as self contained as possible, I really don't want any compatability issues (the mod is in the arena bloodworks/arena -- busy places, not like they are in the middle of no where). And plus even if they are insignificant/no problems found with other mods, I would like it to be as clean as possible ;D

As for the song, you might as well look at the artist's website to see if they allow specific types of noncommercial use. I would highly recommend NOT including the music without permission.

I will reitterate what the poster in that thread said in response to the solution:

"oh thank you thank you thank you my good sir you are a life saver!!!! i cant thank you enough!!!!"

I find that well suited. Thanks for pointing me to that thread, it was just what I needed!

*sigh* ok I will check into the artists website, and possibly contact them. The music is half the mod haha.

Here is something that I just discovered on my already messed up .esp :D

Get a tes4geko (there is a new one out with more functions that came out just recently) That tool is the best for cleaning up mods.
