mod is short for "modification" not .esp

Here is another small fix to distance us pc gamers from console feel of the game.

This is not my solution, but as i wrote it down long ago, i don't remember where i got it... anyways.

If you are used to playing first person shooter etc. games with fov 90 here is how to get that back in oblivion.

Get "fraps" program, as you will not be able to use "print screen" anymore in oblivion. Fraps uses f10 :)

Fraps is freeware and you can get it Here

Start oblivion, in game press ~ then enter without the first quotes " SetINI "fDefaultFOV:Display" 90.00 "

Save game. Exit oblivion.

Set your oblivion.ini to read only mode \My Documents\My Games\Oblivion ->oblivion.ini is here.

Load your saved game. ;)

Edit: PS. If you using a mod that modifies oblivion.ini such as "fps optimiser" ... oblivion might crash, because read only mode of .ini :-/

I try to get BTMOD to work and I replace all files I want from the mod but it still have the existing original settings do I do something wrong.

I copy the xml from BTMOD and replace the existing one in the data folder Data/menu/prefabs/UI or something like that cant remember from the top of my head but I replace the correct file and if I go in game I see the vanilla version of the UI

o_O You don't just copy 1 .xml file unless you know what that file is doing, .xml files are instructions for what graphics to use where on the screen and when etc.etc. I was not telling you or nor am i fammiliar with all that. All i was showing you is how to overwrite inventory mods, while leaving the best parts of them in game. Just Install the mods per noramal, following the steps 1-2-3-4. Starting at 1.

good luck :)

Edit: ahh just noticed this

"I try to get BTMOD to work and I replace all files I want from the mod but it still have the existing original settings do I do something wrong.

"

Well thats because as i wrote ^ there, they are only instruction files on how to use meshes and graphics files and where to find them. Unless you know .xml syntax and can edit or read it, don't mess with that. Its kinda like html code -> which is only a reference text on how to put graphics /font/layout of a page you see in front of you now. If you want to learn how to do that, you will have to read it on oblivion wiki -> i don't know anything about that :P
