How to find correct XYZ/Translation/Position values in NifSkope for snapping objects?

I'm a noob, and I'd like to know how I'm supposed to find the correct translation/position XYZ values for an item's connect points in NifSkope.

I'm trying to make something snap to walls, but I don't know how to find the correct values for the item to snap.

 

I'm also trying to connect stairs together, and I'm not quite sure if I have the correct connect points for those.

 

Can anyone help, or should I start a new topic? I've been testing different values for hours, I have the correct connect points for the wall item, I just can't find the correct XYZ values.

 

I'd appreciate absolutely *any* advice. :yes:

I'm new to modding, almost completely. And in particular, I find NifSkope very confusing and difficult to understand.
