Mod Organizer Start Up

I just recently joined Nexus (watched the Mod Organizer video) then downloaded Mod Organizer, but something is amiss. I have it filed in:

Disk C/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/ModOrganizer/Downloads

Mod Organizer does start up when I click the Icon, and everything "seems" to be working fine, but when I Right Click to Install a Mod I can't seem to go any farther.

(the only mod I tried to download was the "Elysium Estate Mod".

Some information on my computer:

CPU = Intel®Core2QuadCPU [email protected]

System Ram = 6.00 BG

Hard Drive Free Space = 585 GB free of 698 GB

System Type = 64 Bit Operating System

Windows7

Skyrim Launcher.exe date modified 3/20/2015

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Version 1.1

Mod Organizer 9/5/2015 Version 1.3.11.0

DLC's = I don't know what a DLC is

SKSE = Again I don't know what a SKSE is.

If you need more information, you may have to help me find it on my computer.

I suspect I have my filing all messed up but don't know how I should try to correct it. I do have some games I would like to keep, so if it comes to reloading everything is there a way to keep my last couple of games?

Can anyone help?

Thanks so much. Krutina

the button in MO to install mods (looks like a box and cd) ... i also suggest moving your steam folder out of program files (especially for games that you want to mod) or run MO as administrator (even then you may run into problems).

I suggest either on a SSD or something with a small path C:\games\steam to improve file reading performance.

And since you new at moding I suggest to follow this guide and pay attention to the "detailed instructions available" when applicable this will teach you the basics and give you a rock solid foundation to add a few extra mods too.

Looking at your hardware i would not add too much beyond the core step, as i have no idea about videocard.

Thank you very much for the advice. I suspected I would have to move my files. I do have a large external hard drive I could run it on and will place it all on that. But before I do, I'll take your advice and visit the site and learn how to move Steam.

Thanks again, when I get it all running correctly, I'll put a note to this topic.

Thank you very much. Your advice really helped. Everything is working correctly now. Not sure how this forum works on removing these posts, but will leave this one active for awhile, then remove it so everything doesn't get so cluttered.
