Okay I'm sort of panicing right now so I'm seriously confused.

 

I have never bought a house in oblivion, I've always stacked all my stuff in a chest by the bunk in Cloud ruler temple, since I noticed you can drop something in this game and it stays there.

 

And now, I'e been playing this for like 98 days (ingame) and the cehst, wich contained things from the silver warhammers equiped with sigil stones, claymores of forst, sauron's mace, dwarven boots, and most of the parts of Clou'ds sword and many more are just not in the chest anymore o_O

 

I need to know

-Is it normal for stuff to just DISSAPEAR, if it is is there any other way to get it back, maybe from another savegame, copying some script or something, because I really don't want to continue playing from an old savegame

 

-Is there a chance a mod did this, because I added some mods, among the the bunk mod, keychain mod, and a few others

The chest probably respawned. One advantage to buying a house is that you can have containers set to YOUR ownership which won't do that. If you put things in a public container which is set to respawn, your items are gone forever. The only way to get them back is to go back to a savegame before the respawning happened.

 

This is why you can't just put things into any random box in the game.

Dude the EXACT same thing happened to me. Don't worry the game's not broken. I put ALL my stuff in the bed chest in Cloud Ruler Temple. And it dissapeared. Some chests do something called respawning. When a chest respawns, it gets rid of all the things in it and reload what it had before.

 

No, there is no way of getting it back in-game. (Unless you put them back in through TES Construction Set). I ended up just getting more sigil stones, and unfortunately, pretty much all armors and weapons possible up to Lvl 10.

 

If you don't know how to load stuff back in-game through TES Construction Set, or don't have it, just send another post and I'll tell you all you need to know. I can even tell you how to get stuff from mods back in-game, cause it works the same way. Basically, you CAN get all your stuff back :) . I'm a beginning modder, so I need to know these things anyway.

Did ALL of your items dissappear, or just some of them. If all of them dissapeared then it would be respawn, but that normally happens after 3 days. If only some are dissapearing, then technically they aren't. When you have too many items in the one container some stop showing up. I reccomend plaving them in different containers. Houses aren't expensive. I recommend the bruma one, its close to your current house, cheap and has lots of containers, plus its cozy.

Anyway it respawned, I put aaaal my crap there and now it's gone. And it happned after far more than 3 days. I hope that guy can show me how to get it back...

 

Anyway I don't want a house, I got over 8000 gold, I can afford it, but I just don't want it. I'm the camp out in the woods rouge ranger travelling through the land and returning to the fort now and then to store my treasures kind of guy.

 

I mean can you imagine Aragorn having a big mansion in the mountains? No. I hope not. But I have been thinking of the cave on the coest near Bravil, it's just one big room with a bed in the middle, those who downloaded the soul reaver mod know where it is. Big enough to sleep and store my crap :D, will that respwn too if I just leave it on the floor?

One option could be: load up an older save, write a list of what you had (or just what you WANT back) then use the console to add it all in a current save. Using the CS is an easy way to enable or disable container respawn for any one container.

LOK = Legacy of Kain. You might have hear of it, it was a series of games From Blood omen to Soul reaver to Defiance.

 

Anyway I know it can be placed in to the game via the CS, but I don't know how to do it.

Never picked up on any basic CS stuff, infact all I knwo is how to edit textures in photoshop XD

So yeah a total n00b, so I don't suppose you have any links for me?

 

Anyway it's clear that it's gone, so I can continue playing? No matter what I do in-game it won't improve or reduce chances of me gettign it back? Oh and when I finally do learn how to place stuff with the CS will I be able to equip it with the same sigil stones? Does it include MOD weapons? See I really lost A LOT OF STUFF, I'm talking about armour, weapon, spells, books, plants, all kinds of goodies A LOT OF STUFFF

Please I gotta get it back, I can't go through all those Guild recomendations and active quest arrons again, NOT TO MENTION AAAAALL THOSE CAVES. YOU SHOULDN'T DO A CAVE MORE THAN ONCE, it just aint' right... :(

Dude, I told you. but obviously not detailed enough. Load up an old save game to work out what items you lost, or just use your memory (real memory, not computer). to get the codes to get your items back:

 

-Boot up the CS

 

-Go "File" then "Data..."

 

-Check Oblivion.esm, and any other mods that add the items you want back.

 

- DO NOT SET ANYTHING AS ACTIVE. The game will tell you that you haven't, just say "continue" and don't do it.

 

-Go through the tabs on the left to things like "Items->Armor" for armor.

 

-At the top of the colums click "Name" to sort things alphabetically.

 

-Between the colums EditorID and Count there is another colum that has been squished up. Expand it. this is the FormID colum.

 

-Find the item you want, then copy down its FormID

 

-Put on a cup of coffee. this will take you a while.

 

Once done, exit CS and FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T SAVE ANYTHING!

Load up oblivion, push the ~ key to bring up the console.

 

type in: player.additem "FORMID-GOES-HERE" 1

where formid is, form id, and 1 is the quantity.

 

By the way, the characters in my sig are the Daedric Alphabet.

Everytime I type in the MOD ID I get a "Compiled script not saved" Message

I do not know what that means...

 

Still it's neat progress now I can have justice for all those dwarven arows I lost ^_^

 

Any idea on how to get the MODs working? I don't suppose reinstalling them works?
