GeneralSu
So I just started a new game of Fallout 3 with my mods, and my game has froze 3 times in the same spots. First was right after I talked to Amata before exiting the vault. If I killed the two guards that run out of the door with VATS, the game froze every time. In Megaton, the game goes black and freezes whenever I try to enter the water treatment plant. Finally, it keeps freezing right after I talk to Nova in Moriarty's Saloon. I did run LOOT with my mods. Purr4me
ok, basic knowledge about fallout3 is the original mod application used was fomm, and it used built in Boss and still does. there are choices of that application available here.Fomm is for two games only, fallout 3 and fallout New Vegas...all of these have Boss built in. support for online updates died a long time ago, how ever that does not mean they do not work...those of us here still using that applications do have updates or Variables of the templates used, corrected but are not online. these correct load order issues. Now, nexus mod manager is a web site tool with an updated version of Boss built in...renamed and changed to the name of Loot, all built by the same people...but not really maintained as most of was for mods no longer here, mods die..loose luster. Nmm uses loot for many other games, don't really care what it supports because it can't...to date...sort these old games correctly when people have the old mods no longer listed in its' make up / updates. Obsolescence built in. this is why we continue to see the load orders getting mixed results. "mixed results should not be taking place" they do in fact use a template used to go by. two locations for fomm, one on Fo3 site and one several on NV site....search term fork.there were some outside help with the forked versions, updates to certain scripts and finally the program was dropped. now, in favor of Loot. loot will never sort the mods 100%, most of the time makes a mess. we are here to clean up that mess if we can..that is.the game was built when ?published when?so the tools were made for it when? not always a good thing to use updates...think about what windows 10 is? and it's updates breaking our setups, breaking graphics drivers, updating things for it and NOT US..... It alone.
Purr4me
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/20107/? that is the fo3 version site. version (FOMM v0.14.11.9) works best with our templates.http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54991/? same version here as well.my point here is this, if these are obsolete? then why are they still being hosted for use...? some where some one needs to make up their minds about what we use for what games and stick with it. prensa
GeneralSu - Hello!"and my game has froze 3 times "Most common cause of freezing is the Fallout 3 multi core bug.Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading. There is a fix, you need to edit your Fallout 3 .ini file. The one you want to change is:For XP:My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\For Vista & Win7:Documents\My Games\Fallout3The file you want will be called:FALLOUT.iniOpen the .ini with Notepad & change this line:bUseThreadedAI=0to:bUseThreadedAI=1& insert this line under it:iNumHWThreads=2Save & close your ini.Hope this helps!Prensa
