The Foresworn

Collecting Human Remains

Molag Bal's Quest (and he's voice) about beating a guy and reviving him and then killing him for he's amusement

Collecting Souls is about 90% the core of the Game in whatever way, heck we even have the Soul Cairn

A Child on he's hands and knees over the remains of he's dead mother while begging the service of the Dark Brotherhood

Selling your Soul to a Deadric Lord to advance a Quest

Theres a Fort called Dark Light Tower

Skyrim is probably the most consistently dark, but all the games have dark elements, and it's always been a prominent feature of the background lore. Rape, necromancy, genocide, infanticide, patricide, cannibalism, slavery, defilement... They've been around since Daggerfall, and while they're more forefront in Skyrim, it's not really new.

I normally rise before dawn and turn on the coffee maker, the computer and the TV. I am an inveterate news junkie. Of late however, I can stand but 15 minutes of the dreary parade of madness in this "real" world of CNN.

The TV goes off and soon I am ambling towards Riften the full glory of an autumn morning. Skyrim has dark elements, yes. But at least, there, I have some fair bit of control. I can live with that.

Cheers
