Which house to join?

I'm wondering which would be the best house to join with my imperial, So far Hllau looks good but I didn't check the other ones so which one do you think's best?

That depends. Do you play as a thief, warrior or mage, or even all of them?

House Hlaalu are greedy, manipulating bastards, and are more concentrated on thief characters.

House Redoran are the noble warrior guild, they specialize on warrior characters.

House Telvanni are literally careless wizards, they don't even report you if you kill one of them! They are focused on mage characters.

So there you have it. Hlaalu=Thieves, Redoran=Warriors, and Telvanni=Mages.

I prefer Telvanni, as they are as careless and brutal as myself!

House Hlaalu will give you a mildly favorable reaction with Imperial guilds (with the exception that the Thieves' Guild will hate you, if I recall correctly), give you the most rewards for quests in terms of gold, and will generally send you on thievery-oriented missions. Once you get your stronghold with them, it will be placed along the mountains, overlooking Hla Oad, at the end of a very minor path in the Ascadian Isles. Note also that the Hlaalu are scum.

Joining the Telvanni will make the Temple and the Imperial guilds hate you mildly --- the Mages' Guild will just flat-out loathe you, however. They'll send you on magic-oriented quests and give you items as a reward, a few of which are unique and semi-powerful. From what I hear, the storyline for this house as far as quests go is a bit more interesting than those of the other two. One good thing about the Telvanni is that it doesn't really matter if they expel you for killing a fellow Telvanni or stealing House property --- good because you'll want to kill other Telvanni members very often indeed. Once your Telvanni stronghold is built, you'll have to hike to the middle of Molag Amur to use it. Note also that the Telvanni are slave-owning, land-stealing scum.

If you make the wise choice to join Great House Redoran, the Temple will like you better and you'll be just slightly chummy with the Imperial Legion. You'll stand for truth, justice, and so on, so there's an obvious guild or two that would have reason to be irritated with the Redorans. The quest offerings are split into either killing things or else using speechcraft to right wrongs, make good that which is foul, et cetera. In terms of rewards... well, the best things in life are free, aren't they? Once it's built, the Redoran stronghold will be right in the middle of the road between Ald-Ruhn and Maar Gan; it's by far the best-looking stronghold in the game from the inside --- which is good, since ash storms will strand you like that.

Here is how I rank them:

1. Redoran for quests and the stronghold.

2. Hlaalu for the rewards ($) and some of their quests are pretty good too.

3. Telvanni for the flavor they add to the game, which also influences their rewards and such. I really don't like their stronghold though.

Coincidently, that is the order of my preference for combat, stealth, and magic characters I made for Morrowind.

My only other comment is that I was disappointed that neither of the other two houses were included in Tribunal.

House Telvanni is a good choice if you want some really nice little trinkets. Aryon's Helper summons 3 Atronachs, making it ideal for those sticky situations where back-up is recquired. Ondusi's Key gets you past most doors, and the Ring of Equity makes you all but impervious to magical assault.

House Hlaalu is nice if you really need the cash. A few handy items here and there, for instance the Amulet of Domination can command weaker humanoids and creatures. The Murdrum Ring lets you slip past enemy guards, which can net you even more gold.

House Redoran gets you a nifty spear, and you can net a good set of ebony armor, along with some nice stuff, but many of the Redorans seem to frown upon that particular method of doing so. Haughty n'wahs.
