Radavik
Right, well, when I play, the game is constantly shifting between good quality sounds, and poor quality sounds, and stays mostly on the poor quality sounds. The sounds affected are weapons, footsteps and speech, but music and ambient noises are fine. Also, when directly talking to someone, then speech is fine, and menu sounds are fine. I'd like some help in fixing my game, so sounds are constantly on good quality. I have already tried reinstalling, editing sound controls, and even bought a new sound card. Nothing seems to work. And it's not a mod, as I don't use them. This doesn't happen in any other game or computer program, so it's a problem with Oblivion. Any help is welcome. Thanks. Guest
Did you ever find a fix for this problem? I have the same issue and no matter how hard I look, I am unable to locate a fix. This is really ruining my game, and I am unable to even play anymore.
Fenrirtokara
you're not the only ones... And it's very frustrating that people don't help too much :/
Guest
This problem has been fixed, thanks to Fenrirtokara. All you have to do is go to your control panel, select the sound and audio devices, click advanced settings for your speakers, go to preformance, and lower hardware acceleration to basic. That should fix the problem completely. Thanks once more to Fenrirtokara!

Guest
Um, I have a problem, along similar lines, but the other way round. The sound in-game is fine, but when I go to speak to anyone (close-up stylee) they don't 'speak' to me. Their mouths move and I get the subtitles, but there's no sound! I also don't hear anything if I go to pick a lock. I don't know if I should, but thought i'd say that too. I only got the game a week ago - i'v put a few mods on there too, but this has been a problem from the start. I can still play it, but it's just a little annoying! I'v had my computer a month or two, and it's brand new - everything else works fine! Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks, H
Guest
I don't know if it would help, but lowering the hardware acceleration can fix several problems. You might try that. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to fix your problem.
