New to ES4:Oblivion modding.

I've downloaded a couple mods for Oblivion and they don't seem to be active [race mods]. I go into the 'Data' section on the launcher and it's [Oblivion.esm] constantly disabled. Why, and how can I change that?

Did you say that the Oblivion.esm file is disabled in the data files section on your game? Can you run the game like this? I am asking because i know that this file is, in a way, the game itself, i've never tried disabling mine. Though if you just click on the little box next to its name in the data files screen, a tick should appear in the box and this will make it active again.
