10mmPistol02_palette...ok, wtf is that?

Hey, how does the game handle this texture?

I see in Nifskope it is applied in the 5th slot, but there is a "flag" also that goes with it.

Wtf is this? How does it interact with the diffuse/normal/specular textures, if at all?

It obviously makes a difference because this is what it looks like without the palette applied...

SOB!

Thank you for any help.

it is simply the color scheme. woops might be a late response :D

Idr what a color scheme means in this case, how does it affect the maps in the game? The "chrome" of the gun's diffuse texture looks way different than in game...but that may be the shader engine, the cubemap thingie or idk

It means that if you open it on let's say GIMP and paint this palette file green, the pistol turns green in the game.

NOT funny, cause that hurt my brain, cause it involuntarily went thru the whole color set of like 256 colors of that palette and painted the gun that color. tyvm

That doesn't help me. I KNOW the colors in the palette somehow affect the color the game asset gets painted. BUT THERE ARE like 256 colors and even my idiot savant counting brain (can't shut it off, it's a pain in the ass) could not decipher how those colors made any sense in every scene I saw that gun when I played or saw watching on youtube cause Tyrannicon is funny when he yells when he dies...don't tell him, he thinks we're laughing next to him.

Ok?
