Noggog
So I'm trying to create a custom patch and use Bashing to merge it into my current setup, but it's bashing things with a logic that doesn't make sense. I simplified my load order and bashed patch settings to eliminate extraneous variables and to make it easy for you to digest and diagnose. This is not my actual mod setup, it's more of a "case study'. Given what I put in, why am I getting this output? Here's my simplified load order:http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/2519/test8.png So here's my (simplified) bashed patch setup:http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/5215/test4y.png So, you'd expect it would bash together inventories of OOO, FCOM, and my OWC filter, in order. I bash it together and here's a creature entry viewed in Tes4Edit:http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9099/test5s.pngOkay, it's done an okay job, merging the custom entries from FCOM and my filter patch. Buuut, it's omitted the vanilla entry even though it was after FCOM in the load order, why is that? How would I get that to merge properly if I actually wanted it there? And here's a nutso case (same bash, btw):http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/1889/test7h.pngIt's for some reason decided that OOO should be the winner in this entry, and excluded everything else. Remember that OOO was before FCOM or my filter in the load order. What is the logic in the output of all this?Is there something major I'm missing? Thanks a bunch in advance for any insight or help! 8) Edited April 13, 2011 by Leviathan1753
forli
You have to do this:1) Sort your mods with BOSS. (This will reduce incompatibilities by half)2) Pay maximum attention to what the FCOM readme says!3) Activate "Merge patches" and "Leveled list" and all the mods listed in these 2 categories. These are the most 2 important. Edited April 13, 2011 by forli
Noggog
You have to do this:1) Sort your mods with BOSS. These are the most 2 important. I think you're misunderstanding what you're seeing there. In my normal mod setup, I use boss, I've bashed correctly, and my FCOM setup is solid and working fine. The above is simply a simplified version of my load order to simplify the "experiment". I'm eliminating any extraneous variables. Also, this simplified setup -is- in BOSS loading order, aside from my custom patch at the end. I know all that I posted isn't a decent mod setup whatsoever, but that's not the point of it. The point I'm getting at is this: Given what I fed into the bashed patch, why did I get those results?
