Samurai0051
I think it would be sweet if somebody would make a castle siege mod. It would be very fun to attack or defend. Maybe it could be attacked by Dremora or something. However, I have never made a mod, so I couldn't help with development. :(

Basically, Oblivion doesn't handle more than 20 NPCs in a scene, or more than 3 NPCs in a small area well at all. Unlike people, there is ordering. This means that NPCs cluster around a single person, and attack it, often hitting eachother in the process (especially if there are archers), this naturally leads to a sort of pecking order where people from the same side start killing eachother... Fun to watch, but not useful for this sort of thing. Furthermore, there are significant computer requirements to get any sort of framerate in those situations. I've tried various scripting and packaging sets in order for NPCs to just fight as a group, without much success. If the specific actors and situation nvolved were known and preset, like as part of a onetime quest, it is doable with ALOT of creative scripting. If the actors or situation are non-specific, or randomly generated, it just doesn't work.
