mod causing build menu to boot out of game.

any of the DDprodution86 mods you can think of thus far among a few others does this exact same thing. I go to the building menu at a settlement and mod to where the mod says the new maertial is and then the game jumps out of the game entirely and won't let me build anymore tile the mod is turned off or erased in the data folder. I've talked with DDprod for a while and even he is stumped. what am I doing wrong? I've done many ways to fix this yet the problem still remains. even a clean whip don't seem to affect it.
