Ganjolfio
Forgive my weak english, its not my native language. While playing FO4 I was always asking myself: "Why has Bethesda created so few jobs?" I mean, there are only markets, farmers and Guard posts. Why one cant be a Drug Dealer? Or an Escort? Or any other job?I searched for long in the Nexus but couldn't manage to find a mod that do this so here I am :D Its really just a little idea but I think that ppl in general would enjoy such a mod. If it could be useful to anyone, I have some ideas for jobs:Drug Dealer, Escort, Pimp, Explorer, Mantainer of Generators, Mantainer of Waterpumps (they add water), Waiter, Dealer (i mean at Casinos, if anyone should manage to add slots and card games like in FONV), Companions Bodyguards, Employee (yeah, ppl that sit on chairs all day xD), Barber, Facial Surger (connected with the chair), Scentists (that maybe unlock something... or they give... like energy and security) I'll be really happy to see a mod like this on the Nexus, I'm not a modder so i dont even know if its possible.Ty for reading my post if U did :D

TheGreenLion
Always thought it would be cool to have more things for them to do and/or train them to do. And you're English isn't weak, it's rather decent. Busy Settlers allows them to at least look like they are doing something important. They bring in some Caps and Junk while they're at it too. Not exactly what you're asking but it helps to have the variety.
zanity
The settlements were a VERY late addition to a game designed wholly to run well on the PS3, and one that uses an engine based on the PS3 version. When it finally dawned on Bethesda that the age of the PS3 was probably coming to an end, they desperately tried to hack "next gen" features into the FO4 codebase, so the game wouldn't look so lame when it released. This largely meant looking at the 'best' mods for Fallout 3 and Skyrim, and recoding them for FO4- hence the settlement option. Settlements in FO4 are horribly half-assed in every possible way- and the broken AI of settlers and their tendency to stand around like planks is just part of it. Never mind- I'm sure Bethesda plans to relieve naive gamers of another sizeable wad of cash for DLC that 'fixes' settlement gameplay. Mods that deal with the lameness of current settlers need the official construction kit. Even then, there is no guarantee that the elephant in the room- navmesh and pathing issues- can be solved. Bethesda had a choice.1) really BORING settlement building blocks that made new navigation data automatic and reliable. 2) interesting building blocks that could not reliably provide new pathing data. Once Beth saw that settlers could not navigate new settlement constructions well, the fact that the settlers had nothing to do was hardly an issue any more. Broken is a good excuse for doing less. Can modders fix the navigation issues in user crafted settlements, and thus liberate individual settlers to do individual tasks- which they then design and code? I do not see this as possible on the current engine. Beth's prefered solution is magical teleporting settlers- who 'teleport' when you are not looking to viable regions of your settlement. The consequence of such 'genius' solutions is cattle appearing in the oddest of places. My guess is that Beth will introduce (as PAID DLC) prefab navmeshed environments like bars, where users can customise cosmetic aspects, but essentially pathing data is largely pre-baked. TheGreenLion
by what i understand this person wants be a dictator telling his people what to do what to think what to feel. Oh, do your Settlers think and feel? Assign themselves to Defense, Shopkeeping, Scavenging, Supply Lines of their own free will? :ermm: I didn't think so. Maybe you should go sort that out, you seem very confused.
