Magic Scaling Mod that is compatible with Perkus Maximus?

Hello.

I will cut straight to the chase; won't keep you long.

My problem:

I lightning-torture something all day, having higher Destruction skill than weapon skill, and then still end up doing more damage with a few swings of my Ork blade after having burned through all my mana way too quickly for what damage I got out of it.

So I want a mod that scales spell damage, but what I found is simply incompatible with Perkus Maximus, a mod I don't want to give up on.

My question:

Is there a magic scaling mod out there that is compatible with Perkus Maximus?

If so, it would be great if it would be compatible with custom spells, like ones from mods or made with the Spell Crafting Mod, if somehow possible.

Thanks for your time, and thanks in advance for any useful answers.

Greets,

AG

Have you tried Balanced Magic?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2275/?

As far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to be incompatible with PerMa. I use both.

Hmm... it does say it does stuff with perks, but that could also be a separate script that reacts when you get a perk, which would work in case the original affected perks weren't altered too much in PerMa.

I'll give it a shot - in case it doesn't work, I have a clean save from before anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yup! Works like a charm.

And it also affects my custom spells made with the Spell Crafting Mod...

... which has a PerMa Compatibility Patch itself, so all three work together wonderfully.

Thanks a bunch!

Im curious why do you need a magic scaling mod with a perk overhaul? From my understanding perk mods like ordinator, sperg, and perkus balance the magical elements.

Well... a bit, but it's still a fact, even with the mods you mentioned, that magic isn't as good as simply smacking things, or shooting at them.

But with Perkus Maximus, Spell Crafting and Balanced Magic combined, magic is truly, and I mean TRULY on par with other combat styles...

... and Spell Crafting even makes it so you can make your own spells - which stay balanced because uber-powerful ones end up having extreme magicka costs.

And Balanced Magic makes it so spells don't become obsolete, allowing the mage player to keep a versatile arsenal of spells ready for different situations, depending on how big the bang for your buck has to be. Even something like Sparks stays semi-useful that way.

So the combination of these three mods, Perkus Maximus & Spell Crafting & Balanced Magic, in combination with Deadly Combat & Deadlier Dragons & Dual Wield Parrying...

... that's THE way to play the game for me, combat-wise.

Everything is viable, nothing is overpowered, and it's truly challenging in a legitimate way.

... and it allows me to properly and viably play vampire spellblade style! :D

I forgot to mention magicka awakened is probably the best one just for magic scaling.

From my understanding all the big perk mods make them balanced or op in the end, are you sure your not overdoing it? Also did you check out magicak awakened? The one you mentioned is outdated if I remember correctly.
