ahrimon1017
So, I'm not a big gun nut. I have one hunting rifle that's been in storage for 15 years. But, there's a lot about the weapon system in fallout that bugs me. So, I'm wondering if any industrious mod'er would be willing to take on this request. First, receivers should not change the damage of ballistic weapons. The damage should be only be set by the cartridge being used with the exception of legendary effects and perks. Second, many of these weapons are old or home-made so to replace the upgraded damage of the receivers I would like to see a chance for the weapon to jam. Simply have a small percentage per shot for the weapon to not fire, then require the re-load animation just as if the weapon had run out of ammo before it will fire again. If you're feeling particularly industrious have it remove one round as you clear the jam. Third, change the receivers so that they lower the chance of the weapon to jam. The more advanced the receiver, the lesser the chance. I understand this raises the damage on automatic weapons, but do to the increased volume of fire they will have a better jam chance and should balance out in the end. Plus, let's be realistic, getting shot at by an automatic weapon is much scarier than getting shot at by a single shot gun. Other potential changes:Have the steady aim(? Str, lvl 7) perk lower recoil and sight sway. Allow the mini gun to be upgraded to 5.56 and .308 ammunition with increased recoil. Add a .50 machine gun to the mix. It's be sweet to rock a ma deuce at your hip like Roadblock from GI Joe. Heh. Ammo damage: I'm not versed enough to suggest numbers here, but I do wish there was more armor penetration used to differentiate the different ammo types. Like 5.56 doesn't penetrate armor well, but does significant damage to flesh (cavitation) where as a .308 penetrates better but goes through flesh cleaner causing less damage. Then you have the .50 that punches through heavy metal and blows flesh into pieces. Thanks
