Strahlimeier Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 This question was prolly asked before but I'm too lazy to search for it.. Anyway, I would be very pleased if any of you guys who know way more than I do help me on this. First of all, my specs: CPU - Core i7 4770K @3.50 GHzGPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming (3.5 GB VRAM)Ram - 8GB DDR3OS - Windows 10 PRO(I think that's sufficient for you) So lets get to the main topic. As I said on the title I want to go full 2K on my playthrough (maybe a few 4k textures here and there, but not too much of 'em), and I want to know if it would be ok using them before I start downloading for no reason. I've heard about Skyrim's leaky memory bug and I'm already prepared for it. I'm using ENBoost (not sure if that's gonna help) plus skse.ini with the following settings: [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Display]iTintTextureResolution=2048[Memory]defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024 (not sure about these two)scrapHeapSizeMB=384 Other than that, I have to ask. Does any of you play the game with full 2k textures? Can you describe your experience?
Boombro Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Skyrim and your card can handle full 2k and many can and do play with full on 2k with enb and some grass on. But I suggest 1k for some items like pots and what not to save vram and when suggested since some objects show hardly any difference in-game, but it does for you vram.
Strahlimeier Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Yup, I getcha, it seems unreasonable using 2k textures for items that you barely notice in-game. Still though I don't want to be humble about it, I want to squeeze the life out of my gpu.
Boombro Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 That is not a good idea at all.If you want a heavy enb, try 1k textures.
Novem99 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 These values are generally recommended:[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 And with this hardware of yours you should be able to run all of the 2k textures that are available here and get 60fps as long as you won't use an ENB preset. No need to go for 1k textures if you can have them in 2k.
Strahlimeier Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) @Boombro *shrugs* Does Seasons of Skyrim count as a heavy ENB? @Novem99 Using an ENB won't make the game less stable right? I mean apart from losing 20-30 fps (which I don't mind at all). Edited January 22, 2016 by TerrorDetonator
Boombro Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Does Seasons of Skyrim count as a heavy ENB? There are presets of SOS in the zip folder. If the enb is heavy, the modder would say something about it. Like snap dragon prime. Edited January 22, 2016 by Boombro

When using an ENB the game gets more stable because of the ENBoost feature that comes with every ENB preset. You will lose fps but it will definitely make your game more stable.
