skinnytecboy
Hello fellow modders. I'm posting in the slimmest hope that someone out there can help me with my particular problem. Now that I've hopefully grabbed your attention, here's my issue. Over the past year I've been working upon an update for my mod: M.H.A.R.P.H.I.N. In the update I have a cell that uses a custom nif based upon the Azura sphere. It's a uniquely named nif that points to custom textures. Now here's the thing. In my original data folder (I've created a back up for testing, bare with me as it will make sense soon) the sphere shows in ck and in game fine. But when I try my custom install folder to test, the texture for the sphere doesn't show in game (it shows in ck). It is not a "textures" path issue, I've checked the copied nif, and it appears correct. Also, it is not a local issue; I've asked a friend to test the mod, and same result. I'm completely perplexed by this. The mod is 98% done and this is making me tear my hair out! Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Tamira
Can you upload nif and texture so we can have a look at it?
skinnytecboy
Thanks Tamira. I'm uploading to Dropbox now... Okay as I'm fairly certain that the issue is something other than nif/textures I thought it would make more sense to upload the full mod: https://db.tt/vbxDbr30 To see the cell in question; type coc skmfrobinscott Edited January 23, 2016 by skinnytecboy
Tamira
I made a test:First I replaced the original azurasphere in the azurasstarinterior with your mesh and there it was visible. Then I changed the lighting template of your interior from UstengravTemplate to the AzurasStarTemplate and now your custom texture is visible. So you have to fiddle around with the lighting of your interior I think. But maybe I completely misunderstood your problem with the custom test folder .... KorinOo
Yep, your sphere .nif is perfectly fine. You just have too thick fog in that lighting template to see it  Here is my slightly edited LT: screenshotAnd this is how it looks in game: screenshot Edited January 23, 2016 by KorinOo
skinnytecboy
Thanks, you both are my heroes. I will tinker around with the lighting and see what gives :)
skinnytecboy
Okay, you're both right, it's defo the lighting. Thank you :) Now that I think of it, it makes sense because my default data folder has lighting mods installed that my test one doesn't. Back to tinkering ;)
skinnytecboy
Phew! Finally got it working. It turns out that for me, it was a sky issue. No matter what I tried, the sky was just showing up brighter than the object. In the end I resolved this by using sky lighting instead and it works fine. http://i.imgur.com/RRyQTxh.png And here's another one that wasn't displaying correctly http://i.imgur.com/vEn4VVo.png Kudos given. Thank you Edited January 23, 2016 by skinnytecboy
