2 Questions

Okay, I have 2 questions that I need answers on.

1.) How do I get rid of the doorknob when I create a new door?

2.) How do I edit the vault ceiling signs so they show the words I want?

Reasons for Questions:

1.) I created a door in psd format. I converted the door_n.dds to psd as well. I took off all the highlights on the door_n file to make it just plain flat (got rid of the doorknob in it). Next I converted both files to dds format. Then I made a duplicate of a door nif file and renamed it to correspond with the texture files I have. Next I went to nifskope and edited the texture lines to show the 2 files I created. When I went into the G.E.C.K. to add the door, the doorknob was still showing up even though I deleted it in the door_n file and it is not in my door.dds file. How do I get rid of the doorknob for good?

2.) I tried editing all the texture files for the vault sign, but when I get into G.E.C.K. and load them, they still say Admin on them and if I edit the _g or _n file, the entire sign is bright red, including the edges. How do I edit them to show the word(s) I want?

The doorknob is part of the mesh. You will either need to remove it from the .nif using blender or some such program or find a door without a knob. Architecture\Megaton\RamshackleScrapDoor01.NIF might work though it has no frame and you might need to rework your texture for the new shape.

Here's a little guide on creating glow maps. I find the best way to do glow mapped objects is to work from the new texture image you made to make new bump and glow maps rather than adjusting the existing glow maps to fit.

Hope this help,

Jim!
