Creating custom ears?

Hi there, it's me again. And I am having a new problem - I tried to create a custom ear mesh for Oblivion and the result is, well, a CTD. I narrowed the problem down to missing .egt and .egm files. I tried The Conformulator but the result is the same, a CTD when the game tries to load the ear mesh. If I use the .egt and .egm file from other ear meshes (for example those from the khajit ears) with my ear mesh Oblivion loads fine however my mesh is kinda distorted.

 

Any Ideas?

Are you exporting the ears rigged? Export them without any skeleton. Just the ears. For egm you will have to conformulate them but don't use the tri generation option. Also, you are better of opening a new empty blender project and then use file->append the ears object to your new project.

Nope, I made sure that the mesh is not rigged. The Conformulator didn't work, he created the .egm file but the file itself didn't work. The only way to use my mesh is to use .egm and .egt from other ear meshes.

 

Also, you are better of opening a new empty blender project and then use file->append the ears object to your new project.

 

Could you explain that in detail?

Start something new in blender,File->New, delete the cube. Then from File->Append or Link and select the ear blend file. double click and you can navigate inside the actual file. You will see some stuff like Mesh,Object and such. Just select and double click Object and then you see another list. In that list is your ear mesh, just right click an item and then ok button to add it to the new project/document/whatever
