texture files

Texture files are all located in the Fallout4 - Textures.ba2 (and Fallout4 - Textures2.ba2, textures 3, etc). In order to access them, you will need to use Bethesda Archive Extractor (BAE) to extract them from the files. It can be found here:

Once extracted, you will need a program capable of opening and editing them in their .dds format if you plan to edit them at all.

Currently a lot of the tools for editing Fallout 4 are in early stages, so be prepared for bugs or limited features, and be prepared to spend a fair amount of time learning how to do it. Its not going to be something you do over night :)

There are tutorials on here and youtube that show you the basic retexturing process, a quick Google search gave me this one:

I hope all this helps ya get started, and look forward to seeing more mods!!!

If people take time to answer questions, don't get offended or discouraged. If you struggle and / or fail, don't give up, either. It takes time. And it can be a PITA at times. But it can also be very rewarding! Once the official mod tools come out, things will be a bit easier, too (presumably, at least.)
