Hey i recently found a mod called oblivion reborn on you tube it allows players to connect and play with each other the you tube videos of it sucks ( based in 2009) and i was wondering if by now the mod was dramaticly improved. if it is not it would be great if someone would contuine it ( come on oblivion 2-6 players = BEST MOD EVER more the midas!) Can someone please take screen shots of 2011 gameplay for me please :3?

It would be awesome to play Oblivion or Skyrim with my friends but the sad truth is the sheer logistics of doing something like Elder Scrolls Online is far above most people. There is a lot of talent in the modding community but I doubt any of us could pull something like this off and have it in any playable condition.

I am normally extremely optimistic and defeatism is not me but I would not get my hopes up about any form of multiplayer Elder Scrolls unless Bethesda itself jumps on board with a new title.

This subject has been beaten to death in several topics. There are some demos and 'proof' of concept mods on multiplayer. But the game engine used for Oblivion/Fallout3/New Vegas is just not suited for multiplayer and forcing it has not proven very productivel. To do a true multiplayer Oblivion, you would need to start with a whole new engine and design the game from the ground up to handle multiplayer gaming. And then, it would no longer be Oblivion because of the massive changes needed. Plus, Beth would have to implement a monthly charge to play just like WOW to support the massive servers needed. (servers are not free) And the one thing that completely kills the entire idea for me - NO Mods. >:(

Essentially what you would get would be WOW, but with the Oblivion storyline. You can already play WOW. And it's stable unlike anything a patched up Oblivion multiplayer would be.
