Excited to start, but mods wont work makes me sad

Hello everyone,

 

I just decided to start modding Fallout 4 and I am very excited to get all the fun content that modding provides. However, I cannot seems to get the mods to work. I downloaded NMM, set up everything the way he told me to, but when I go into the Fallout4customs and fallou4pref files, first I do not see the [launcher] tab, so I decided to make my own and copy what the videos have been telling me to do. I made my own customs folder because I did not have one. The mods are not working and I have been at this for several hours trying to find any sort of help but I cannot. Please help.

I'd watch this video first. He does a great job explaining how to get the game ready to recognize mods
