fnv4gb working fine in a unusual way

Hello, I've downloaded and installed fnv4gb before but, it would prevent the game from completely loading when I tried to load a saved game. It says to "run original game first". This time around it runs perfectly when I launch the original game "steam launcher". So, in short, is it a bad idea to continue to use the game via steam launcher? I don't want to try the 4gb launcher due to it not working before.

As no one else has replied, I'll take a stab at it.

 

You need to launch the Steam Client, and choose to run FNV in "offline mode". Then minimize the Steam Client FNV session window. (You will still get your Steam achievements. Note that at this point FNV has still not actually run; only the Steam Client. The game and the Steam Client are two different beasts.)

 

You need to do this each time you run a new session before you launch the "fnv4gb.exe" file, but you can close and launch "fnv4gb.exe" as often as you need as long at the Steam Client session is still active. (Application load error(s): "5:0000065434" or "P:0000065432" indicate the Steam Client is not loaded. Just fire up the Client and try "fnv4gb.exe" again.) You are not actually using the Steam Launcher, and this way you can use NVSE.
