Riven1978
Ok so i am working on the fat man body and it is going rather well, a lot better then i expected really given all the anti-hype i have read over the years since FO3 was released. I have gotten the body into game and have tested it out quite a bit and it works rather well, only reall issue i have is how the butt crack moves when the guy walks but i feel that is minor given all the tweakage that occurred to the actually body hehe. However, something i thought was going to be realitivly simple has turned out to be the wall in front of the speeding train. In altering the body mesh, I naturally have to redo the hands and head mesh to fit the body as well; the hands went well and are also working fine in game, the head though... not so much. all i get is the teeth, tongue, and eyes showing. Naturally i thought ok I have come across this before it has to do with the Egm so crack open the Conformulator and make yourself a new one. Well ok but then i got to thinking about it, that it wouldn't work, Using the default headhuman.tri and the headhuman.obj (i exported from Nifskope) i went about the task of trying it out and sure enough no dice still shows only the teeth, tongue, and eyeballs. one strange thing i noted was that the egm i created from the obj is about 569KB and the default one is 680KB, I didn't change anything other then the size and shape (still has the same amount of verts and triangles) of the head; so if anything i would think it would be larger...not smaller. But at any rate I am thinking the original .Tri has something to do with my problem of it not showing up in game (side note: It does show up at all in full body preview in GECK, yet it shows up as a dark brownish/black head high above where it should be in the head preview of the GECK) all it will do is crash. so i tried just with the Nif and no crash but no head mesh either, tried it with Nif and Egm and this is where the crash is happening. I can do helmets, hairs, and anything like that just fine (have many times already) but it seems this is happening with just the new head mesh file (I have not tried to make it into a mock helmet to try it yet but will be doing that once i finish writing this up My Questions:What are the .EGT, .TRI (i keep hearing morphs), .EGM files exactly used for in game (please use simple terms as i am a simple individual ;) ) Why am i able to make helmets and such but not a new head mesh? 0.o How do i create a NEW .TRI/EGM (When i am trying to make the ones now it is asking for a .tri file already which in turn looks for an EGM, found that out in my testing) pretend for a min that all i have to go on is just the OBJ/NIF files :D no default tris or egms for use in the conformulator. nivea
Heads have animations built into them, helmets do not.I dont know much about getting heads to work in games other then you seem to need to do a ton of work to get them working... Only thing I can offer is this tut, but its for oblivion so I dont know if it will help. :\http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37209 You could try asking throttlekitty, I think they put up tutorials about this sort of thing. Riven1978
I took a look at throttlekitty's eye morph tutorial awhile back (also just this morning) and couldn't get it figure out, mainly because of my lack of knowledge on the Hexediting stuff. My eyes (or brain for that matter) doesn't seem to want to work correctly when i start looking at that sort of thing :( so i may have to just have to wind up not making a new head for the fat man :( looks rather strange with a skinny guy head but unless someone can break the process down to about a kindergarten level i am at a loss...so it is off the adjust the body to fit the head, Thanks for the info nivea at anyrate
Quetzlsacatanango
In the facegen you can make a relatively fat face, so it may not be a problem.
rausheim
You need "The Conformulator" and a .obj version of the head mesh. It's pretty straight forward on how to make it ;-)
