OB, patches, and mods

I have OB with the 1.2 patch installed.

 

I dont have any ground breaking mods other than the Intelligence Overhaul.

All my mods worked after the patch install except the race change ring which now crashes my game.

Not a big loss except that I cant change the hairstyles of my characters ( the main reason I used it ).

 

Lets assume I have no patches installed ( as I might roll back OB so I can use the ring for a little longer ). My questions is this:

 

 

Is the 1.2 patch REQUIRED for SI?

So if I did roll back OB would I still be able to install/play SI?

This doesn't really answer your question, but if you open the console using the tilde (~) button you can enter

"showracemenu" and you can edit everything like you did at the very beginning of the game. I'm guessing that is all that mod does. Then you can just play without it.

Note that the above command will reset your stats. The workaround is mentioned here, among other places.
