Oblivion won't start with activated mods

I used the Oblivion mod manager to install and activate mods, however when I activate Mortigen's Monster Mod Oblivion refuses to load. When I activate Ren's beauty pack nothing new appears in the game. Help?

Where do I download those programs? Why arent the mods i have activated working?

Be sure to read the documentation that came with the mods to see if anything else is required - such as OBSE or the latest patch.

 

If you have Win7 or Vista, there is a windows 'feature' that will protect your computer from mods. It's called UAC and it protects the default install location. If you have Win XP there is no problem.

 

Best solution, uninstall Oblivion and reinstall it outside of the UAC 'protected' Program files location

My recommendation is C:\Games\Oblivion.

 

I do not recomend disabling UAC as that leaves your computer open to some viruses to do things like disable your antivirus and firewall to take over your computer.
