My Problems List

You mention renaming a BOSS data folder. Please be more specific. What is in that folder and where is it?

Oh. The installer I downloaded made a new folder called "Data" inside my original "data" folder. So the LodGen thought it should fix stuff in that second folder, I suppose. So I renamed it to "Dataz" for the time being, after I already ran BOSS, so there should be no problems.

EDIT: In that folder, obviously, is BOSS and the accompanying files.

EDIT: There seems to be a folder called BOSS in my Oblivion/Data folder. It just contains notepad documents and stuff. No actual exes or anything. As far as I can tell, BOSS worked. My loading order was changed.

EDIT: Seems like I also have BOSS stuck inside the Oblivion/Data folder too. I think I installed it everywhere, lol. Got it to work, anyhow.

OK, whenever there is a Data Folder inside your Data folder, something is wrong. Your BOSS folder should have been in the regular Data folder like this: Oblivion\Data\BOSS. WHat I have in that folder is stuff like this the masterlist, old and new modlists, a BOSSlog.html and maybe shortcuts to the documentation. Is anything else in that data folder you renamed?

Nope. It was probably just a product of me shoving in BOSS everywhere. I found this: http://www.oldblivion.com/sm/index.php?topic=25.0

The guy seems to be suffering a similar problem with his fog and his "white rocks", but he never found a solution in this thread.

The guys there just tell the man with the problem to go ahead and pull back the fog. But if you do it so there is no glitch, you might as well just disable fog at that rate. I might have to go to sleep soon. Too bad, such fast responses are rare in a forum.

Sorry, I tried. I hope you get some good sleep. I'll probably be around tomorrow to help if you still need it, and someone else will probably come by with more suggestions while you are sleeping. Thank you for the profile comment, btw. :)

I think you know by now that I am trying to help you, so please understand this. I am dyslexic. I hate reading long confusing manuals and read mes because it is really hard for me. The problem is, you really have to if you are going to mod Oblivion, so I have to make myself struggle through them. It turns out in the end it saves a lot of time and trouble. If you have trouble understanding some of them, believe me, I can sympathize, but I used to be like that, and I got one weird problem after another until I learned what should be where in the Oblivion folder, and how to use all the tools. I think it's sort of inescapable if you want to have a stable game.

Sleep well and don't dream about fog. :)

I see what you mean. No, I don't have any reading problems. It's just all this archive invalidation and fancy smansy words gets me all confused. Well, I guess I will go off to sleep. If I don't dream about fog, will probably be about missing underwater textures or enemies dieing and nocliping around... Heh. Good night.

I'm assuming you've already rebuilt your Bashed Patch after BOSS reordered your mods, correct?

Now--with your mods reordered, have you reloaded from a clean save?

To do this, load your last saved game. Move to an indoor area. Save, and exit the game. Then, load that new saved game. See if the same problems still exist.

For the fog issue I'd suggest first disabling all environment/aesthetic mods, like Ambient Dungeons, and root out what could be causing it. You might have to just need to strip mods away until you find the problem, I once had to tear it all down to just Oblivion.esm, SI and the DLCs to find a bug. However, there's a chance it might just be some strangeness with your video card drivers or something doing it. (Unlikely)

I made a copy of my Oblivion folder, and disabled pretty much all mods. I still see all 3 problems. Will do a retest soon.
