Bruma Recommendation

Volanaro has asked me to "steal" Jeanne's Manual of Spellcraft from her desk, and has taught me a spell to unlock it. However, there is no Manual in her desk. I've completed other quests, come back and tried again, but still no manual. I've even bought a copy and put it into the desk and stolen it later, but still can't complete the quest. Any suggestions please ?

Open the construction set, click data files and check Oblivion. Once it has loaded, press Character and then Quests. Scroll down until you find the quest you want, it should begin MG and it ought to be clear which is the right one. When you have highlighted it, look at the quest stages and find the one that says something like 'I have stolen the manual from Jeanne's desk. Now to take it to Volanaro'. Look at the number listed beside that quest stage. It will be a number ending in 0 probably. Note the quest code in full MG + number + name) and return to the game with both bits of information.

In game open the console and type Setstage Reference (that is the quest code in full) and then the stage number. This will advance your quest. Whether Volanaro will respond correctly I don't know but you can always advance on to the next stage in the same way.

I don't have the CS on this PC or I'd give you the exact refs.

Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.

Not the way I would have prefered to go, but then Oblivion isn't the most "bug free" environment in the world, is it ?
