Creating a modular mod

Recommended Posts

I am the author of nuclear weathers located here http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9063/?

I am currently trying to make all the weathers modular but after a quick look at how this could be done it would require me to create over 1400 different Climate/region data override .esp's

I first thought about cloning the weathers into there own .esp and making the base file a master leaving the climate data in the base file and just adding the weather from the new esp to the base files climate data. how ever after doing this when i try to reference the new weather to the climate data in the base file i get a error saying references a master which is not available, but in order to even clone the weather to the new esp i had to make the base a master to it.

So I do not understand why this should not work for one but if you cant do it that way, ok fine

am I missing something? is there an easier way to do this with out creating every possible combination of weathers in climate override esp's

because with only 6 weathers and 2 different options for climate data's because of being compatible with true storms, that would be over 1400 different combinations

EDIT: after thinking about my math the total number of combinations would be lower than 1400 but still over atleast 400 considering having to allow for region data as well and that is still way more than i am ever willing to do

Load in FO4Edit both your main and new module. Right click on your new module in FO4Edit > add masters. Select main from the list. Now you can reference to it.

Edit: Ups I'm a few minutes late ;)
