gosemina
New to modding and PC games in general and I just can't seem to get DEMONIZED TYPE3 Female body to work properly. I have FOMM and archivedisable installed properly and have downloaded all six files from the download page. I used FOMM's package manager to automatically install all six files and launched the game from the application. When I play the game I can obviously see that somethings have changed as I have access to the test clothing and my characters skin is different tones in different places. Also when wearing the test bikini I see that the character is wearing black "underwear" and have read that this is a sign of missing textures packs. I am confused as I when I installed the mods through FOMM I saw no error messages. Also I uninstalled the modes and tried the Type V Female Body and Armor Replacer and got that set of six mods to run without any problems. Another question I have is once I have the cosmetic mods installed how to I actually change my character. I see both mods have body and color variations but I am at a lose on how to change anything. I assume that I would use the console commands? SAdly I do not think I know what I am doing. Edited April 26, 2011 by gosemina
Tamujiin
In FOMM apply archive invalidation. You no longer need to install it. PM if you get more problems like this.
SonDEreix
I had a similar texture problem not too long ago. If FOMM prompts you to overwrite any existing files, do so. You should no longer see the different skin tones and black underwear if you choose to overwrite the other files. To change your character's appearance, open the console and type "showracemenu" without the quotes and you can change your race, hair style, eye color, etc. Whatever the skin tone of your character's face is, that's going to be the tone of the body as well. And as einhander888 said, apply Archive Invalidation in FOMM after installing the body replacers. Edit: I just looked at the files and you're only supposed to install one of those, not all six. In the first file 'TYPE3 BODY V3dot5' there are five different bodies to choose from. That's why you're having texture issues. Also, they may not be FOMODs, so you'll have to install ONE of those bodies in the folder manually if they aren't. gosemina
Hmm I'm still having trouble. I understand that I need the TYPE3 body files and V2 texture pack only but I'm still getting a weird looking character and the black underwear.I got rid of the program archive invalidator and used the one inside FOMM.Should I try a manual install. I just a little bit overwhelmed.
gosemina
OK I'm a stupid SOB. I had to install them manually. Question: What is the point of the FOMM?
SonDEreix
OK I'm a stupid SOB. I had to install them manually. Question: What is the point of the FOMM?I was overwhelmed when I started modding as well. FOMM works well for most mods and is a very convenient tool because you can easily install and uninstall mods with ease among other things, but you can't use it to install mods that aren't supported due to not having a script. In this case, FOMM installed all of the body textures in the folder instead of one.
Tamujiin
It also helps in moving around your load order which is a very important thing to do. eventually if you start "heavily modding your game" your going to need to get fo3edit. and learn how to masterupdate and make a merged patch. you dont need wrye flash, but i recommend learning how to use it. Rule of thumb, fallout 3 is not oblivion. dont get nuts with it. :)
