The witcher 3 in Laptop (or "The things I never learned about pc functionallity")

As you can see in the image, I've got:

i7 3610 QM 2.3 GHz

GeForce GT 630M

6 Gb Ram

And the only difference between the minimum requirements and what i've got are: the video card's name and 1 Ghz processor speed (but an i7 instead of a i5 [don't actually know if it makes a difference by now])

So I don't actually get why it's running soooooooooooooo slow, in low settings.

Just the enlightment on this thread would be great... But if you can also tell me if there's a way to make it run properly, I would be gratefull.

(I'm trying the Nexus Config Mod right now)

So your video card is actually slightly less than the requirements because of the "M" (indicating a laptop gpu). A 660M and a 660 (no M) are not the same (in terms of power) either. A non-laptop GPU will always be slightly stronger, even if the model numbers of both appear similar. so your graphics card is actually slightly below the requirements, even though the qualifications technically say otherwise.

Though you have an i7, which is the newest, the number of GHz (which is essentially the speed of the processor) is more important than whether or not you have an i5 or i7 when it comes to gaming. An i5 with high GHz will typically run games better than an i7 with lower GHz. Think of i7 like the number of cylinders in a car engine, while the GHz are like the volume of the total engine. You can have a million cylinders (in theory) but with a tiny engine it won't make much difference (not the best metaphor but it's all I got). It sounds like your laptop may not be a laptop designed specifically for gaming, or is a few years old. I'm not sure there's much you can do to vastly improve your experience on a game as new as this, aside from replacing the parts in your laptop.
