jeffglobal
After much pulling out and pushing in and smoothing while masking the wrists and neck so they didn't change and fit the head and hands, and then remeshing, I got a VERY smooth vanilla nif of the femalebody.nif. The problem is I can't bone it. Which should be easy, look at her: The theory goes, I should just add back this mesh into the nif of the original and then delete the original Trishape... I can go into way more detail on the mesh, but, first I want to bone her fast and dirty, then IF it works, do it pretty. I was adding tricep detail and then I thought, uh, can you even get it into the game...duh. Should I try to switch the bone/collision/ and god knows what else is going on I looked at it in 3ds max IN 3ds max? Idk if the nif export plugin of max does anything good except export the mesh really... I'm gonna try to export her as a nif, after I line her up with the old nif body and adjust the pivot, add her to the old nif, delete the old mesh, after I add to her all the right references...it transferred as a Trishape, not a BSSubindexTrishape...no good. Mike made the distinction between BSSubindexTrishapes as armors and Trishapes as weapons. If there's another way, pls, I'm all ears... rickerhk
I would try exporting it to .obj, then import it into Outfit studio. Then load the vanilla body as a reference into OS. Did you add/remove verts? If not, right-click on the body and 'transfer weights'. This will transfer the identical vanilla weights to your body, from the reference. If you did change the vert count or order then you will need to do a 'copy weights'. Then edit each bone to clean up overspray from the copy process. On the neck and wrist seams, you need to adjust the weights to be identical values to the vanilla mesh.
jeffglobal
Ok, ty. I will try that. I have a long nails version of the CBBE hands as a mod for manicures and stuff. I could do the same thing with them if I need to swap them for the CBBE hands in the fingerless gloves? What's weird is the bones for the hands is attached to the body mesh...so maybe all I have to do is use the vanilla to CBBE conversion idea for the body outfits for the gloves? [Edit] For some reason how I understand other ppl's explanations is defective. Between Mike's tutorial and ousnius' tutorial references, I should be able to get this to work. I will try this again this week. Edited February 6, 2016 by jeffglobal
