warbrand2 Posted January 30, 2016 Share Posted January 30, 2016 IT always distrubed me that in games like this you directly load ammo into the gun, now for the double barrel shotgun I can see that working but well all the other weapons in game are a mag or clip based weapon system So here is the concept replace free load ammo with mags that must be manually loaded at weapons benches, as well as make it so that things like drum mags are not weapon mods but instead rarely found mags. idea in 10mm pistol in vault 111 player finds the 10mm pistol in it is one full clip. near it is another full clip and a clip with 2 rounds left in it. the ammo counter would show a 12/2 meaning 12 rounds 2 spare mags. To reload empty clips the player would sellect the clip and would reload it with the ammo (equip the ammo, and it will reload clips one round at a time). alternativly the player can craft loaded clips/mags by taking an empty one and the apropriate amount of ammo and loading them at a work bench. Reasoning for idea, to give more depth to ammo management, and make ranged combat something of a Go out with x mags and have to ration them. This is basicly a mod idea for hardcore play throughs in which ammo and mags would have weight. SIDE IDEAS fusion cells are 1 equals a mag per weapon meaning instead of a laser rifle holding 27 cells it will hold one cell with 27 charges for that system, this would require reduction of the cells found and a change to a core like system. ( have many other ideas for hardcore mode weapon systems, like laser weapon over heating and things like fusion cores being made rarer but rechargible via plasma ammo and fusion cells.)
