Confector426
gimpyparrot's mod worked for me, kudos and endorsement ftw! Thanks man, this was getting to be pretty game breaking for me till that mod showed up
bjd955
I get this problem often. I just turn on God mode when it happens (console command: tgm). I get the bang but the head stays on.
theobeau
@bjd955, If you still haven't solved the problem, try the mod mentioned earlier in this thread. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43813 Worked much better for me than fiddling around with slave collars and trying to work out which mods use them as bases, which seemed to be an underlying reason for the error. I hope this helps you.
whodat1
I started to run into this problem yesterday. Everytime I left the saloon in Goodsprings my head would explode. Since I was running CASM and it had saved in the saloon, I didn't lose much on the reload. But it was annoying. I didn't matter which door I left by or which direction that I headed, I'd go 50 feet and then my head would explode. I was trying the doors and different direction because I thought it was a sniper nailing me, until I figured out that a sniper would not of had a clear LOS on every place I had went. Getting frustrated, I did something that I haven't done since FONV first came out... I entered god mode. After I left the saloon in GM and reached a place where my head would explode, I heard a weird sound and saw a small flash of light. After that nothing, so I switched off the GM and have not had my head explode in the 2 hours of gameplay since. I think something was triggering the DM slave collar routine. Being in GM kept my head on and whatever the trigger was must have been satified by running it's coarse. It's a weak fix and doesn't explain the why, but it's real easy to implement. So if your head is exploding, reload and enter the god mode until you hear the trigger go off, then exit god mode.
